Unable to drag and drop when editing toolbars
Wygwam - I am unable to drag new button groups into my toolbar configuration when editing the toolbar. I can drag the button group but when I drop it just returns to where it started.

Hi Eric,
What version of EE and Wygwam are you using and which browser version?
Are you getting any JavaScript errors in your browser's console?
Thanks,
Brad -

Hi,
I have the same issue. The console doesn't produce any JS errors. I am running the it on localhost though. Could that be an issue?
Thanks -
-
There’s nothing inherently wrong with running your site off your localhost. Just make sure all your Server Path and URL setting are correct in Admin > General Configuration, etc.

Hi,
Thank you for the quick response. I just checked the General Configuration and everything seems to be in order. I also tested the module on external server and it worked fine. It seems like the localhost version is the only one complaining. If it's not the server path, what else could it be?
Thanks -
-
I should add that I can drag and drop items from the existing configuration, but not into it (i.e. add new items).

It seems that this issue is not exclusive to localhost, but rather to EE 2.4. I just installed a fresh version of EE 2.4 on external server and the same issue there. This issue wasn't present on EE 2.3.1 with Wygwam 2.4 though.
Is there a compatibility issue with EE 2.4?
Thanks -
-
We did release Wygwam 2.4 today, which adds EE 2.4 compatibility, but the editor configurations were not affected. I just checked to make sure, and they’re definitely still working fine in EE 2.4 on my end.
Make sure that your themes/third_party/wygwam/ folder is still there and in-tact. -
-
Thanks for checking this, but the folder is there and intact. The configuration is the same as was used for EE 2.3.1 w/Wygwam 2.3.

Hi Zakir,
I just looked into this again, and this time, toolbar selection wasn't working on my end. Not sure why it worked last time – maybe I was using the wrong EE version.
Anyway, I figured out what the cause of it was, and released Wygwam 2.4.0.1, which fixes this bug. -
-
Thank you Brandon.
Though I don't see Wygwam 2.4.0.1 on the release notes page. The page wasn't updated yet? -
-
Just upgrade to 2.4.0.2 and pain still persists.
Module page shows WYGWAM as 2.45, fieldtype page shows 2.4.0.2 :( -
-
Same issue for me. On EE 2.4 and cant drag/drop. Installed new module this morning ,2.4.0.2 but not fixed yet.
-
-
Yeah, I have this too. I can drag stuff out, but can't put stuff back in.
-
-
Have just tried doing the same thing in Firefox - no problem. Issue with Chrome + Safari (webkit ?) on OSX.
Anyone else confirm ? -
-
I am having the issue in both Chrome and FF, on Win 7. Same as Andy, I can drag it out but not back in.
-
-
I've tried in all browsers. It seems there's no "drop" functionality. Though, the item is draggable but fails to snap to a destination.
-
Note: This is also occurring on EE 1.7.1 using 2.4.0.2
-
-
This issue is fixed for 1.7.1 by upgrading jQuery from 1.3.2 to 1.7.1 and jQuery UI from 1.5.2 to 1.8.16
Debugging in Chrome, jQuery UI suppresses error messages. However, jQuery notified me that $.proxy was undefined – a utility introduced in jQuery 1.4
I would recommend checking both jQuery and the UI are at their latest. -

When you guys updated to Wygawm 2.4.0.1+, are you sure you uploaded the new themes/third_party/wygwam/ folder? Also, try clearing your browser's cache.
-
-
Maybe this was just a cache issue for me. I just looked and now it seems to be working again. How about the other guys that had this issue?
-
-
It's working for me too - I'm absolutely sure I refreshed my cache. Is this some kind of trick? :)
-
-
I'm also having this problem in EE 2.4.0 with Wygwam 2.3.4.1 and Chrome. Clearing the cache hasn't helped, and I can't see any javascript errors in Chrome's debugger. Will try updating :)

-
Same problem - Wygwam 2.5 and EE 2.4.0. For me as well as others, worked in FF, but not in Safari, but no JS errors in Safari.
Thanks... -
-
Have you cleared Safari's cache?
Sometimes Safari is stubborn about clearing cache. One technique that has always worked for me is:
- Close all tabs
- Quit and re-open Safari
- Safari > Empty Cache..., and click Empty
- Quit and re-open Safari
Give that a shot. -
-
Right on the $$$. Worked in Safari. You're the man.... again. Thanks, Brandon!
