Playa Drop Panes adding all opptions, not just the selected opptions
Running EE 2.1.0 and Playa 3.0.7. Added three Playa Drop panes to a Channel and find that it has a tendency to add relationships to all options (not just the ones selected) when I edit. The items selected appear last in the ordered lists.

This has been officially fixed in Playa 3.0.9.

Ahh - figured it out. It's when EE auto saves content for you. So I open something to edit it, don't do anything and go somewhere else. Next time I come back to that entry I'm asked / told "ExpressionEngine has saved data from this entry since it was last saved. Saved data is removed when an entry is saved or re-saved. Would you like to load this data now?" If you say "Yes" If has all the options pre selected.
I'm using Wygwam as well, and I noticed it will populate with "Array" in this case. So it's really more about the auto save feature in combination with the tools.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll work on a fix.

I'm having 100% this exact same problem with both Playa and Wygwam, just to confirm it isn't an isolated case.

For now, you can work around this as I did by temporarily disabling the autosave feature (which to be honest isn't of any benefit to me). Here's a walkthrough:

That temp fix is a great solution for us. I wasn't a big fan of the auto save anyway. That said, let us know when you have a fix and well get it installed.

I've been experience this too. Hadn't been able to figure out what conditions it happened under, but thanks for identifying it was autosave. That autosave has been more of a hassel than of help for me too at this point.

Good job Scott, I bloody hate that autosave, didn't even consider that it could be turned off.

Hrm... I disabled autosave as described earlier in this thread and I just had this problem pop up again. Again, I'm not sure of the conditions... it seems to be if I toggle around and do a variety of other things and then hit publish. I know, really unspecific, but it's all I got =)

I'm having the same problem. I've applied the the autosave fix so see how it will go.
I have a secondary problem where one of the entries that this has happened to won't become unlined from the other entries. In the edit field it appears to be unrelated, but when output on the site it's keeping the association. I tried
deleting all caches etc but to no avail. My only option was to delete it.
I'm running EE 2.1.0 and Playa 3.0.8 - upgraded from EE 2 beta and and an older version of Playa 3 -
-
Also disabled autosave, which is great for other reasons, but the problem still cropped up. However, I was able to replicate the problem by editing the publish layout and then saving the entry. My workaround is to avoid submitting edits and new publish layouts in the same session.
Hope this helps narrow down a permanent fix. -

Ditto for all options and array.
Again more likely the annoying EE end - i am finding so many bugs in it. Cannot wait for it to be as stable as 1.6!!!! -

just found I get the same result if there is in error in the form I'm submitting. Specifically, I had a date field that was improperly filled out, upon submitting I get the EE error and all the Playa and Wygwam loose their values.

This was fixed for Wygwam in v 2.0.4

Cool have adopted the autosave fix for the moment as well. Just to confirm - is pixelandtonic planning to release a fix/patch for this issue at some point?
-
Right now trying to focus on getting Wygwam 2.1 out the door next week, but after that, yes I'll look into this.

Have a pretty major site launch and this is a major headache. Looking forward to a fix. :) But enjoying the mods and the flexibility of EE.

Did you disable autosave for the time being?

We just upgraded one of our key properties at LendingTree to EE 2.1 and along with it, Playa 3.08. Still having this issue and our editorial staff is essentially destroying our content relationships due to this bug.
Disabling auto-save has had no effect. -

Same issue here. I turned off autosave, hopefully that does it.
Is there a confirmed stable combo of playa version and ee version that we can roll back to if the autosave doesn't work for us? -
