Image issue with Matrix

I'm using Matrix 2.0.6 + EE 2.1

I've created a simple matrix consisting of a title column and an image column. I'm experiencing an issue when adding image. Let's say for example I have five rows of data in my matrix, the first few images will render OK but not the list few. This is because the matrix seems to fail to render the {field_dir..} tag, so outputs only the file name rather than the absolute path.

Can you try finding that problematic row within your exp_matrix_data DB table, and see if it's missing the {filedir_X} tag?

This issue only occurs if I create/edit an entry after adding multiple matrix rows. It does not happen if I add a single row.

When I remove and re-attach the image on the publish page the image is fine. This just appears to be an issue when adding multiple rows of matrix content

The file directory ID is passed to Matrix from the EE2 File Manager. So I think this is actually a File Manager bug, and have submitted a bug report to EllisLab: http://expressionengine.com/bug_track...

EllisLab still hasn't fixed this, despite dozens of comments on the bug report, direct emails and tweets. Very frustrating...

I added an error message to Matrix 2.1.1.2 so that the user is at least notified that there was a problem.

  Yesterday I started working on a new file fieldtype that doesn’t rely on the built-in File Manager. It’ll be a separate (~$15) purchase though; not bundled with Matrix.

I made a few adjustments to the ee_filebrowser.js file that fix the problem. It's just a few lines that grab the file directory again via regexp. I've tested this on EE 2.1.0./Matrix 2.0.7.1

Depending on your version of EE 2 the ee_filebrowser.js file is in one of these two directories.
- /themes/javascript/jquery/compressed/plugins
- /system/expressionengine/javascript/query/compressed/plugins
Here you go. Use at your own risk:

Copying and pasting your js code into ee_filebrowser.js seemed to break all of the js on the page. I think you were missing a parenthesis or something.

Hm. This .js file doesn't seem to have made a difference for me. I uploaded the file (backing up my original), but I'm getting the same results. "Add a file" doesn't show all the images available in the folder and the rendered template is still showing some missing paths.

Am I supposed to be doing something other than uploading that .js file?
