I am using the latest version of wygwam, and checking the demo for ckeditor demo here I notice that it has a flash uploader for files.
Is it possible to get this working/enable it somehow?

Hi,
You can enable Flash uploads by going into your file upload preferences, and setting Allowed File Types to "All". -
-
Hey, that was quick.
You do mean under Content > Files > File upload preferences? I did that, but nothing seems to have changed. What did I miss? -
-
i also cleared the browser cache, and ee cache, if that makes any difference

In a wygwam field, i click the image icon, then "browse server" and "upload" in the finder

The problem is that you’re clicking the Image button – that’s only for images. (You can’t put <img src="path/to/flash-file.swf" />, you know?)
Instead you should use the Link button. -
-
Or, if you want to put the Flash file directly in the page, you can use the Flash button.

Yes, I am fully aware that you cannot do img src="file.swf"
I think you've misunderstood me. I don't want to upload flash files, I want to uploads images (jpegs, pngs, gifs etc). But I would like the uploader to use the flash uploader seen on the demo page i linked to, so the user can see a progress bar to monitor the progress of the upload.
So to be perfectly clear, if you follow the link i included in the first post, and navigate to one of the "Public" folders where you have permission to upload files, and then click "Upload", a flash uploader is used, instead of a html file input. -

Sorry, misunderstood your question. I did click on the link you sent, and assumed you were referring to the “Flash” folder on the left.
I guess that Flash uploader is a feature in a newer version of CKFinder than Wygwam comes with.
Now that Wygwam supports EE’s built-in file uploader, we’re no longer keeping CKFinder up-to-date. But you can download the latest version of CKFinder and upload it to themes/third_party/wygwam/lib/ckfinder/ yourself, and you’ll have it. Just make sure to copy over Wygwam’s config.php file in that ckfinder/ folder. -
-
Didn't even notice the Flash folder, sorry for being a bit vague.
I'll give that a shot, thanks! -
-
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be that easy.
Are you really not going to keep CKFinder up to date, just because Wygwam supports EE's file manager? What ever happened to giving people choice? -
-
That’s all we ever do to keep CKFinder up-to-date. You might need to clear your browser’s cache.
-
-
Well, it sorta works. However I get this message when i open CKFinder: "Product license has expired. Please visit the CKFinder web site to obtain a valid license."
When I add a file and then click upload, nothing happens.
Clearing cache doesn't help. -

Just tried it locally, and I got the same error. Looked into it, and apparently our CKFinder OEM license has expired, so I had to renew it. Go back into config.php and search for:
$config['LicenseKey']
And change its value to this:
EAA8-H6WK-NK57-M2SU-J4FQ-ES8U-VXU3 -
-
(And yes, now that I’ve gone through all this, we will include CKFinder 2.1 in the next Wygwam release.)
