Can I expand the playa keyword search past keyword only?

I have a client that uses product codes, and I have the code set up as a text field. They want to be able to search for that code in the playa search box and currently it's not returning anything - is there anything I can do to expand the playa search to search all searchable fields? Or specified custom fields? (I'd only really want to look in this one!)
