Add Structure Asset as List Type in Wygwam

Is it possible to add a structure asset as a Custom List Type in Wygwam? I imagine it would need to be an extension tying into the wygwam_config hook but I'm not sure how I'd go about pulling in that info. I tried to figure it out from the "Wygwam Template Links" example but didn't get too far. Can you help out or point me in the right direction?
